🌱working on

  • Research @ Columbia Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (McKinley Group): valuing individual ocean CO₂ observations with a Data Shapley framework to find where sparse, expensive measurements would most improve the ocean carbon sink reconstructions behind the Global Carbon Budget.
  • Research @ AI4VS Lab, Columbia (Ophthalmology): an eye-tracking simulation experiment, plus Vision Transformer and diffusion models on retinal scans (Optos/OCT) for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.
  • Capstone @ Columbia IEOR, with Occudo Quantitative Strategies: high-frequency trading price prediction with deep learning, in a team of seven. Just kicked off.
  • Capstone @ Columbia IEOR, with LPL Financial: two projects on AI for financial advisors: giving an AI assistant client context without exposing client data, and what self-improving AI could mean for a firm and its advisors.

📚learning

  • M.S. in Data Science at Columbia: exploring Deep Learning, LLM Systems, Generative AI, Agentic AI, Robotics, Computer Vision, Causal Inference, and High-Performance Machine Learning.
  • Teaching Assistant, Natural Language Processing (COMS 4705) @ Columbia: office hours, grading, and walking students from tokenization and transformers through RLHF, agents, and evaluation.

🛠️tinkering

  • Learning AI engineering by building: small experiments with agents, RAG, evals, and inference tricks to understand what actually works beyond the demo.
  • Treating this website as my creative playground: whimsical UI, custom editors, AI-powered features, and writing about how it is all built. Lately: a recruiter page that rearranges my résumé for the role you pick, and emails it to you.

  • Collecting museum tickets like souvenirs.
